PHOTONICA 26 – A Journey Through the Cosmos
Join us for PHOTONICA 26, a free six-day celebration of astronomy, astrophotography, and the beauty of the night sky above Scotland and beyond. Featuring 12 speakers over 6 days, this immersive event brings together inspiring talks, stunning deep-sky imagery, and a shared passion for exploring the cosmos.
Taking place at the Cutty Sark Building, Ayr, from 15th–20th September, visitors can enjoy breath taking astronomical photography exhibitions alongside daily presentations from leading voices in astronomy and astrophotography. Whether you're a beginner, enthusiast, or experienced observer, PHOTONICA 26 offers a unique opportunity to discover the wonders of the universe and connect with Scotland’s vibrant night-sky community.

October 16th - 19th Astrophotography Tour
Join a multi-day photography adventure through Scotland’s stunning dark sky locations, departing from Perth in a comfortable SUV.
This immersive and private tour (2 People and Andrew) offers the chance to capture the Milky Way, the Moon, and hopefully the Northern Lights while travelling to the clearest skies across the country. Guests will stay in self-catering accommodation and have access to professional astrophotography equipment, including Sky Trackers and filters, along with expert guidance on shooting and editing. It’s an opportunity to explore breath taking landscapes and discover new locations perfect for night sky photography.
Led by renowned astrophotographer Andrew Allan, the tour celebrates Scotland’s exceptional night skies (among the darkest in Europe) and its dramatic natural beauty.
With years of experience photographing across Europe in places like Arctic Norway, Iceland, and Tenerife, Andrew brings extensive knowledge and passion to each session. His workshops and collaborations with organisations such as BBC, Audi, and VisitScotland have inspired many to take up astrophotography. With his guidance, participants are guaranteed a comfortable and unforgettable journey into the wonders of Scotland’s night sky.
Note that the start location is Perth, after meeting you will be driven out to the best location based on weather conditions.
Garvault House
Stargazing and Photography Weekend
13nd - 15th November 2026
Enjoy a weekend of stargazing / astrophotographer at the UK’s most remote hotel. The Garvault House is home to the darkest skies in the UK as the site is located far in the moorlands in the north or Scotland.
During the day Golden Eagles and Wild Stag’s roam around the garden, just spectacular.
During the weekend enjoy indoor presentations, photography tuition and stargazing with professional astrophotographer Andrew Allan.
